Come see us at the Running of the Brides event this Friday, March 19th at 8:00am! We will be arriving around 6:00am to talk with all the brides searching for their perfect wedding gown!

According to Filene's Web site, basement buyers accumulate gowns from a variety of sources including manufacturer's samples, overstocks, canceled orders, excess merchandise, etc. Many of the dresses still have their original price tags and may be priced in the thousands. So, when these buyers have accumulated at least 1000 gowns they set a date for the "sale" and price all dresses at $249 each.

The morning of the sale, brides, mothers and friends begin lining up early. Usually by the time the doors open at 8am, hundreds of women are waiting in line. According to the Web site, "when the crowd is let loose, it takes less than 60 seconds for the racks to be stripped bare". Evidently the women just grab as many dresses as they can, go off in a corner, strip down and start trying them on. Miana and Amos William's Wedding

Miana Connally and Amos Williams were married February 6, 2010 at 5:30pm at the Georgia International Convention Center located in Atlanta, GA. With 12 bridesmaids, 12 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, and 1 ringbearer the couple's wedding was an absolute delight. Check out the photo's below!

Carly and Brendan Ahern Wedding

Carly Norsesian and Brendan Ahern, our adorable Florida couple, celebrated their big day under a luxurious tent at the Newnan Country Club on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Carly and Brendan's wedding was definitely an event that their guests will be talking about for years to come! The ceremony was held at the Ahern residence which boasts panoramic views of the Newnan Country Club gulf course and has plenty of southern charm. With a rain scare averted the ceremony went off without a hitch. The reception site featured green and white hanging paper lanterns and candles which lit up the tent outside of the Newnan Country Club for their evening reception. The tables were decorated with custom made runners and orchids submerged in large vases with floating candles. The tables were numbered with a different picture of Carly and Brendan holding the number for the table adding a nice personal touch for their guests. This Florida crowd was definitely there to have fun and there was plenty of dancing up until the very end when Carly and Brendan Ahern made their exit through a crowd of guests holding sparklers and cheering for the bride and groom. This was truly a spectacular event and we enjoyed helping make sure the day was just as perfect as they dreamed it would be!

Floral Matters

Martin Kemp and Jeanna Bailey from Floral Matters created these gorgeous formal winter arrangements for an upcoming January wedding. We met with the bride-to-be in an old renovated church turned floral studio complete with a working bell tower and original hardwoods where they now run their floral business. This non-traditional bride adored the unique ceremony aisle runner created by Martin and Jeanna which uses thick branches and large circular flower arrangements sprinkled with shimmering crystals and rose petals that truly catch the eye and bring in the “wow” factor. Our bride is shown in the picture below rearranging certain pieces to make it consistent with her vision; she is fully involved in every element of the design and pleased with the arrangement they created just for her. The reception centerpieces pictured below will have hanging candles and plenty of crystal to ensure that the reception tables pop. The reception will include multiple rooms including a dessert room with similar floral centerpieces using the branch theme seen throughout the wedding, a lounge where guests can dance and mingle and the main reception room which will feature a slight modification of the floral centerpiece shown below. We look forward to this event which will be one of a kind!

Kristen and Kyle Spurgeon Wedding

Kristen and Kyle Spurgeon were absolutely the cutest couple! The two of them were meant to find me. The couple was listening to Star 94 and heard about LGBD as one of the TOP 10 BEST Wedding Planners in Atlanta, went to my website and saw that their highschool friends were on my site, as I previously planned their wedding. We met at Starbucks and talked for a couple of hours about their concerns and needs. The two had booked event venue, Chota Falls, and were a bit behind in their planning. We had a little over a month to find a cake designer, Eileen Carter (the cake lady), violinist (Bella Musica), linens (BBJ Linens), create programs (made program fans), choose and design their flower decor, and so much more. We did it in stride and everything turned out absolutely beautiful! See some of the photos below!

Kim & Clay 05/24/09

Kim and Clay were such a great couple! Kim was such an easy going bride, and Clay was a go-with-the-flow kind of groom. Fantastic couple!! Kim looked absolutely beautiful in her cream lace dress, coordinating with her groom in khaki. The family, and bridal party were such sweet people, one really couldn't have asked for a better group of wedding go-ers! Kim and Clay were married at 6:00pm on May 24, 2009 at the Margaret Mitchell House located in Atlanta, GA. We all crossed our fingers for no rain, and we made it throught the ceremony without a drop of rain, even with the grey clouds nearing. Everything was absolutely beautiful! Check out the pictures! You will see the candy table I put together, along with Clay's mother, Kim - the bride - and myself talking, the ceremony site, and the reception site!

company expansion

so i think i've finally decided to expand little girl's big dream, as far as possibly bringing on another co-owner/planner. i've come to a point in my business that i would like to be able to expand to doing more then one event a weekend, and to do that would mean hiring more staff. currently, there are two of us, and an intern at times. i handle all paperwork, emails, bills, marketing, networking, planning events, and designing events, in which i LOVE. there are times when i'm having to turn down events on certain dates due to being previously booked, and i hate to do that, and would love to take them on and give them a taste of our design! letting go of my baby, is going to be the hard part, but i know as far as business goes, this will only be a move of greatness.

on that note, if anyone is interested in coming on to little girl's big dream as a co-owner, which would entail financial contributions just as much as i put in, along with a lot of hard work and responsibility - email me with your resume and what you could bring to the company! :) from there, we will be hiring assistants as well.
